4-Month-Old San Diego Baby Dies Of Swine Flu
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
A 4-month-old baby girl with no underlying medical conditions is the latest swine flu death in San Diego County, according to health officials. In all, 33 residents and four non-residents have died of swine flu and 617 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak began last April.
The county has a very limited supply of H1N1 vaccines -- just 20-60 doses, according to county officials. The supply is only being made available for pregnant women. More vaccine will be available for the general public in the coming weeks and months, although an exact date is unknown.
Vaccinations may still be available from private providers. Residents are urged to contact their primary care physicians to get the H1N1 vaccine.
