Possible Swine Flu Outbreak Reported At Local Middle School
Thursday, October 8, 2009
A possible swine flu outbreak at a 4S Ranch middle school is being reported this morning. A total of 130 sixth-grade students were absent from Oak Valley Middle School on Monday, and more than 100 were absent Tuesday and Wednesday, NBC 7/39 reported.
The students recently returned from a sixth-grade camp in the East County, according to the news station.
School and county officials were working to determine whether students were stricken with swine flu. On its Web site, the school has posted a warning list for students and parents encouraging anyone who feels flu-like symptoms to stay home.
