UC San Diego was ranked 35th among national universities for a second consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report, it was announced today.

UCSD was tied at 35th with the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Topping the list was Harvard, Princeton and Yale.

The magazine rated universities based in part on the range of available majors and degrees, and their commitment "to producing groundbreaking research."
