Ya-Ka-May is a noodle dish served in New Orleans and said to cure even a Mardi Gras-style hangover. It's also the name of the new album by the New Orleans funk band, Galactic. The album, which drops tomorrow, features brand new material and an all-star line-up of legendary New Orleans musicians. Check out this sampling of collaborators: Rebirth Brass Band, Irma Thomas, Big Chief Bo Dollis, Allen Toussaint, Trombone Shorty and John Boutté. Check back here for more on Galactic as their arrival in San Diego nears (the band plays The Belly Up Tavern on March 3rd), but in the meantime, here's a video about the band and the New Orleans music scene.
