Wednesday, June 2, 2010
ENCINITAS - A San Diego County bus driver has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk on duty.
Sheriff's Sgt. Mark O'Connor says there were eight passengers on the bus when David Joseph Costello was pulled over Tuesday afternoon in Encinitas. He says the 40-year-old driver was arrested after taking a sobriety test.
O'Connor says a passenger who got off the bus called the Sheriff's Department and reported that the driver was making unscheduled stops and appeared to be drunk.
Transit officials say another driver was called to finish the bus route through northern San Diego County.
