Camp Pendleton Marine Is 1,000th U.S. Military Fatality In Afghanistan
A Camp Pendleton Marine killed in Afghanistan was the 1,000th U.S. military fatality in the conflict. Cpl. Jacob C. Leicht, 24, of College Station, Texas, died May 27 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, according to the Defense Department.

San Diego law enforcement authorities say a man was Tasered at the San Ysidro Pedestrian crossing, headed south into Mexico, on Friday evening. They say the man was taken away in an ambulance.
