Mail-in Ballots Tallied At Registrar’s Office

The voter registration deadline for the November 2 election is Monday, October 18. But some people have already voted.

San Diego County Registrar of Voters Deborah Seiler said mail-in ballots are already coming into her office.

"We've had over 50,000 ballots returned as of Thursday," said Seiler. "We sent out pretty close to 700,000."

Seiler said Tuesday October 26 is the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot.

Monday, October 18 is the deadline to register to vote or make registration changes for the November 2 election.

"The traffic has been brisk but certainly nothing like we saw two Novembers ago in the 2008 Presidential General Election," said Seiler about voter registration in 2010.

Seiler said all registration forms must be postmarked by October 18th for the November election.

She saod her office in Kearny Mesa will remain open until 8 p.m. Monday October 18.
