Temperatures dipped into the mid-20s to mid-30s early today, causing frost in the valleys of San Diego County, where strong gusty winds were also expected through Tuesday.

A trough of low pressure moving southward through the Great Basin into Arizona is going to spur strong gusty north-to-northeast winds to inland areas through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency issued a frost advisory for the valleys until 8 a.m., and a wind advisory was scheduled from 10 a.m. today to 4 p.m. Tuesday for the valleys and mountains. A wind advisory is issued when winds of 35 mph or greater are expected.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Watch for debris on roadways and use extra caution,'' said a Weather Service advisory.
