Authorities responded this morning to a reported mountain lion sighting near West Hills High School in Santee.
The sighting was reported shortly before 10:50 a.m. near state Route 52 and Mast Boulevard, according to authorities.
Someone reported seeing the animal in an area near West Hills High School, authorities said.
School officials secured the campus as deputies, Fish and Game officials and the sheriff's department's Astrea helicopter search for the mountain lion.
