Tuesday, May 10, 2011
Del Mar City Manager Karen Brust resigned today, effective June 30, to to take the same position with the city of San Juan Capistrano.
Brust has been with Del Mar for four years and, before that, was the director of finance for the San Diego County Water Authority. She said the move will put her closer to members of her family.
"It has been a delight to work with Karen, who is always willing to take on new projects -- such as the proposed fairgrounds acquisition -- with hard work, solid financial understanding, and good cheer," Mayor Don Mosier said. "I appreciate how many hours she put in to make our city a better place, and the solid team she built all of whom will continue to serve Del Mar."
San Juan Capistrano Mayor Sam Allevato said city officials looked over more than 80 applications before settling on Brust because of her experience in finance and water operations.
