Strong Storm Expected To Arrive To San Diego This Weekend

Starting late Friday night, a strong Pacific storm is expected bring up to 2 inches of snow to the mountains of San Diego County and several inches of rain to the rest of the region.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm could lower the snow level to 5,000 feet -- which would include Mount Laguna in the East County and Palomar Mountain in the North County. The storm will also drop between two and five inches of rain around the county, the agency advised.

Thunderstorms are also possible late Friday night through Saturday, as are strong gusty winds.

Temperatures throughout the region are expected to range from the low 30s to the low 60s during the storm, which will likely continue through Saturday.

"A slow drying and warming is expected for Sunday and Monday as the storm moves east,'' the NWS advised.
