Fire Breaks Out At Apartment Building In Mission Beach

A three-story building in Mission Beach was reported on fire at about 1:30 p.m., according to the fire department. Officials originally reported the fire at 2961 Bayside Lane, however later reports placed the fire at 2965 Mission Blvd.

Several nearby residents were evacuated by emergency crews.

The burning multi-story building just south of Belmont Park was unoccupied when firefighters arrived, a dispatcher said.

Extensive damage was done to the structure, but no injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
