New YouTube Series Focuses On Military Sexual Assault (Video)

Lauren

A new YouTube series called "Lauren" is a fictionalized account of a female soldier who has been sexually assaulted by fellow soldiers, only to find reporting the crime prompts abuse of a different nature from her superior.

The first installment of the three episode series airs today on the YouTube channel WIGS.

"Lauren" is directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and stars Jennifer Beals of "Flashdance" and "The 'L' Word" fame.

According to the Associated Press:

‘‘Lauren’’ sets out to show viewers how unfair and unsympathetic the military can be toward the abuse of female service members. At the same time, it depicts the turmoil of many of the victims — who have a deep love and respect for the military but often feel betrayed after coming forward.

I've posted the first episode at the top of this story. Give it a watch, and let me know what you think!
