Army Staff Sgt. Wesley R. Williams was killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan on December 10, according to the Department of Defense. Williams, 25, died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
Williams was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, under control of the 7th Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.
Williams was a native of Clark County, Ohio and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2005. WHIO-TV reports Williams leaves behind a wife and two children.
