Soldier Killed On Christmas Eve In Afghanistan

A U.S. Army carry team transfers the remains of Army Sgt. Enrique Mondragon, of The Colony, Texas, at Dover Air Force Base, Del., Dec. 25, 2012.

Army Sgt. Enrique Mondragon, 23, died December 24 in Baraki Barak, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense. He was killed when his unit was attacked by small arms fire while on dismounted patrol.

Mondragon was from The Colony, Texas. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 173rd Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team in Bamberg, Germany.
