It looks like the USO is in the "Winning!" category, thanks to actor Charlie Sheen. Sheen has promised to donate at least $1 million, the largest single donation ever given to the USO.
Sheen has agreed to give 1 percent of the profits from “Anger Management,” the new TV show in which he stars, with a donation of at least $1 million guaranteed, according to the Military Times.
The New Jersey Star-Ledger quotes a statement released by Sheen as saying:
“They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I’m just happy that my work on ‘Anger Management’ can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families.”
The USO, or United Services Organization, is a 70-year-old group whose goal is to lift "the spirits of America's troops and their families."
