Two Camp Pendleton Marines Accused Of Assaulting Pregnant Teenager

Two Camp Pendleton Marines have been arrested for allegedly assaulting and robbing a pregnant teenager who was carrying the child of one of the Marines, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Camp Pendleton spokesman Capt. Alex Lim told the L.A. Times that Lance Cpl. Lance Swann, 20, of Laguna Niguel, and Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Walton, 20, of Ventura are being held in a Redding, California jail, facing charges of conspiracy, robbery, and felony assault.

An alleged accomplice in the attack, Erika Swann, is under arrest as well.

According to the Times:

Lance Swann, who is the father of the newborn child, will also be charged with spousal abuse, authorities said. He is the cousin of Erica Swann and the former boyfriend of the victim, Nicole Vultaggio, 18, who was eight months pregnant at the time, according to a police statement. It did not suggest a motive.

Vultaggio's baby was born prematurely, but is healthy.
