Inspector Morse is a character from the detective novels by British author Colin Dexter. John Thaw stars as this most unlikely detective in the massively popular, award-winning television series of murder mysteries. Inspector Morse is a gentle romantic, out of shape, craving good beer, classical music, and difficult crossword puzzles. But aided by trusted sidekick Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately), Morse still gets the job done.

Widely acclaimed by critics, the series attracts millions of viewers worldwide. Oxford's most famous export, the unique character of Inspector Endeavour Morse, has proven to be one of the world's most popular detective dramas.

"Cherubim and Seraphim, Parts One & Two" air at 9 p.m. & 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 21st - In these episodes, Morse's step-niece, Marilyn Garrett, commits suicide and he takes leave to research her past to find a reason for it. His investigation leads him into an alien world of teenage hedonism, raves and designer drugs. Jason Isaacs stars as Dr. Desmond Collier.
