Twentyine Palms Marine Killed In Afghanistan

A Marine based at Twentynine Palms was killed in Afghanistan on June 23. Lance Cpl. Niall W. Coti-Sears was 23-years-old.
According to the Department of Defense, Coti-Sears was killed while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Twentynine Palms.
The Desert Sun reports Coti-Sears's stepmother, Debbie Sears, wrote about her loss on an online message board:
“Niall was killed yesterday by an IED...the Marines were just here a couple hours ago to inform us... He was a talented musician and a good person who loved music.”
Coti-Sears was originally from Arlington, Virginia.
