The military has identified the Marine found dead at Camp Pendleton Monday morning as Lance Cpl. Michael J. Ronner. He was 23-years-old.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating the death as a suicide, according to the North County Times. The Marines would not confirm this, with I Marine Expeditionary Force spokesman 2nd Lt. Garth Langley telling the Boston Globe in an email:

“To preserve the integrity of the investigation process no details are available yet.’’

According to Ronner's Facebook page, he was from Sudbury, Massachusetts, and studied at Indiana University. Camp Pendleton Patch reports Ronner was enlisted in the Marine Corps in January of 2010. He was assigned to the 9th Communication Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
