Fallen Murrieta Soldier To Return Home Friday

The body of Army Sgt. Clinton Ruiz, who was killed in Afghanistan October 25 in a suspected insider attack, will return to Murrieta on Friday, according to the Press-Enterprise.

PE blogger John Hunneman reports:

Sgt. Ruiz is scheduled to arrive at Camp Pendleton about 11:10 a.m. on Friday and depart the base at 11:45 a.m.. He will be escorted from the base to Murrieta by family, friends, members of both the Murrieta Police and Fire departments, the Patriot Guard Riders and the motorcycle riders from American Legion Post 852 of Temecula and Murrieta.

Folks who want to pay their respects to Ruiz along the funeral route can meet up at Kalmia Street near Murrieta City Hall or by the Murrrieta Valley High School baseball fields.

As Home Post reported on Monday, Ruiz grew up in Murrieta and graduated from Murrieta Valley High School. He was based at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

Ruiz is survived by his wife, Kira, and one-year-old son Caleb.
