Five Airmen from Aviano Air Base in Italy have made the qualifying pool to compete in the first-ever military tournament for the game show Jeopardy! And Alex Trebek was there to help with the audition.

Trebek traveled to military bases in Italy and Germany earlier this month as part of a USO and Armed Forces Entertainment-sponsored tour to visit service members overseas. Trebek, who has has participated in the USO Tour since 1987, says of visiting the troops:

"There is no call higher than that of our armed forces and their service to our nation. I have always been a passionate supporter of our men and women in uniform. There is no better feeling than showing our troops just how much we care."

The five Airman who qualified for the show's first-ever Military Week did so by taking two trivia tests, getting interviewed by contestant coordinators, and playing a mock version of Jeopardy!
