Second Ex-Navy SEAL From San Diego Killed In Libya Violence

An Imperial Beach man who was a Navy SEAL for twenty years has been identified as the fourth American killed in attacks at the U.S. embassy in Libya. Tyrone Woods, 41, was one of two ex-Navy SEALs from San Diego County who died in the Libyan attacks.

An Imperial Beach man who was a Navy SEAL for twenty years has been identified as the fourth American killed in attacks at the U.S. embassy in Libya on September 11. Tyrone Woods, 41, was one of two ex-Navy SEALs from San Diego County who died in the Libyan attacks, according to the U-T San Diego.

Woods' ex-wife, Patricia Ann So, told the U-T the couple had two sons together, ages 12 and 15. She said Woods was a dynamic man:

“He was balls to the wall. He loved life, loved adrenalin... You could not find a more skilled SEAL than him.”

Woods had been an owner of The Salty Frog, a bar in Imperial Beach, until 2009.

As Home Post reported earlier today, former Navy SEAL and Encinitas resident Glen Doherty also died in the attack on the U.S. consulate that claimed the lives of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith.
