SDSU police looking for cell phone thief

San Diego State University police said they are on the lookout for a young man who snatched a student's cell phone from her hand Sunday and fled with the device.

The victim was sitting with another female student in the north alley of 5100 College Avenue when the robbery occurred about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the SDSU Police Department.

Police described the robber as a thin black man around 18 to 24 years old, last seen wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and a gray or dark baseball hat.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call university police at (619) 594-1991.
