'American Sniper' Chris Kyle Killed, Ex-Marine Charged With Murder (Video)

Former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who authored the bestselling memoir "American Sniper," was shot to death at a Texas shooting range Saturday along with another man. The suspected shooter is a former Marine who was reportedly suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Washington Post has identified the alleged shooter as Eddie Ray Routh, 25, of Lancaster, Texas. Routh was arraigned on two counts of capital murder yesterday.

Kyle, 38, was shot to death alongside Chad Littlefield at the Rough Creek Lodge and Resort shooting range, roughly 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

Scott McEwen, who co-authored "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History," told ABC News Kyle should be remembered for more than his lethal marksmanship:

"His legacy is not one of being the most lethal sniper in United States history. In my opinion, his legacy is one of saving lives in a very difficult situation where Americans where going to be killed if he was not able to do his job."
