Another Cold Night Grips San Diego

A freeze warning was in effect early today for the valleys of San Diego County as yet another cold night gripped the region.

The National Weather Service scheduled the freeze warning until 8 a.m., saying the lowest temperatures early today were in the lower 20s near the foothills and in wind-sheltered areas.

In the far western valleys, overnight lows were in the lower 30s, according to the agency.

A high wind warning was scheduled for the valley and mountains from 7 tonight to 2 p.m. Tuesday. During the high wind warning, sustained east to northeast winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour and gusts of 50 mph, even possibly 60 mph, were expected, according to the weather service.

"The winds will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high profile vehicles,'' according to an NWS advisory. "Watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.''
