2013 Miramar Air Show Will Go Ahead As Planned (Video)

MCAS Miramar commanding officer Col. John Farnam announced today the 2013 Miramar Air Show will go ahead as scheduled, despite the Pentagon's grounding of military aircraft for air shows due to sequestration cuts.

Farnam said in a video statement that the 2013 Miramar Air Show will feature static displays of aircraft, and an opportunity for the public to meet with Marines and Sailors to discuss their work:

"While the show's going to be a little bit different this year, I tell ya it's going to be a time to remember for you, and for your family."

As Home Post previously reported, the Defense Department earlier this month turned down Miramar's request to use military planes in the air show, citing sequestration budget cuts.
