Army Warrant Officer Sean W. Mullen, 39, died in Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan on June 2nd. The Department of Defense reports Mullen was killed when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Mullen was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.

According to the Associated Press, Mullen was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and Delaware Technical and Community College.

Mullen became a member of the Maryland National Guard in 1993, and enlisted in the Army in 1995.

Mullen is survived by his wife, his parents, and an older sister.
