3 San Diego Men Held For Alleged Pot Mail Ring

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Three San Diego men have been arrested on suspicion of running a marijuana ring that mailed pot to customers around the country.

U-T San Diego says Chris and Kyle Gillen and Matthew Schneider of Pacific Beach were arrested on Wednesday.

They remain jailed Friday.

Chula Vista police were part of a task force that conducted the raid. Chula Vista police Lt. Lon Turner says officers also seized 300 marijuana plants at a warehouse, along with cars, guns and $35,000 in cash.

Turner says the men are suspected of mailing up to 20 pounds of pot weekly to dozens of customers in New Jersey, Texas, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, West Virginia, New York, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Turner says the operation is believed to have brought in $20,000 to $30,000 a week.
