San Diego Shelters Offering Discounted Cost Pet Adoptions To Veterans
Monday, November 11, 2013
In honor of Veterans Day, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, and the San Diego County Department of Animal Services, are offering 50 percent off adoption fees to those who have served in our Armed Forces.
The shelter will foot the bill for spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. The veteran and his or her new companion will also go home with a bag of pet food.
Dawn Danielson, director of the San Diego County Department of Animal Services, said in a news release:
“This is truly a win-win situation for both the pets that deserve a loving home and our service members who will gain a loyal, forever companion."
The veterans' adoption fee discount starts Monday, Nov. 11, and lasts until Nov. 30.
