Airmen Killed In Car Accident Identified

The Air Force has released the names of two airmen killed in a car crash last week. Airman 1st Class Edward Yu and Airman 1st Class Abtron (Tron) O'Neal died when their vehicle collided with a truck on a highway near Colorado Springs, Colo.

According to a Schriever Air Force Base news release, Yu and O'Neal were active-duty airmen assigned to the 3rd Space Operations Squadron.

Colorado Springs police told Fox21News.com the fatal accident occurred when the car carrying O'Neal and Yu drifted into westbound lanes of Highway 94:

The vehicle then collided with a truck traveling west.

Col. William Liquori, 50th Space Wing commander, said of the airmen's deaths:

"We want to express our heartfelt condolences to Airman Yu and Airman O'Neal's families and friends, as well as the 3rd Space Operations Squadron family. This is a sad day for the Schriever family. Schriever officials are planning a memorial service for Yu and O'Neal.
