Mexican authorities in the border city of Juárez are searching for a female suspect they believe is responsible for the murder of two bus drivers.

Witnesses say a middle-aged woman wearing a blonde wig boarded two separate buses near downtown Juárez last week and opened fire on the drivers. Both killings happened within 24 hours.

Over the weekend local news outlets reported receiving an email from someone calling herself "Diana the Bus Driver Hunter." The email claims the murders were revenge against bus drivers who abuse women riders.

State police are looking into the email but do not confirm its validity.

In the past two decades hundreds of women have been brutally murdered and disappeared in Juárez. Two bus drivers were convicted for the deaths of eight women found in 2001 in a cotton field. One of the bus driver's conviction was later overturned and the other died in prison.
