All schools in the Lakeside Union School District were in lockdown this afternoon while police responded to a nearby shooting that left one person dead, KPBS media partner 10News reports.
Students at Lindo Park Elementary, Tierra del Sol Middle School and Lemon Crest Elementary were dismissed prior to the lockdown, although there may still be staff and some children there.
The police activity is centered in the 12000 block of Lakeshore Drive. Police say one person is dead. Investigators are on the scene working to figure out how it all unfolded.
