US Soldier Dies From Wounds Suffered In Afghanistan

U.S. Army Spc. Kerry M. G. Danyluk, 27, died April 15 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, from wounds he suffered April 12 in Afghanistan.

According to the Department of Defense, enemy forces attacked Danyluk's unit with small arms fire. The incident took place in Pul-e-Alam, Logar province, Afghanistan.

Danyluk was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.

A news release from the 10th Mountain Division reports Danyluk grew up in Cuero, Texas. He enlisted in the Army in October 2010, and served his first deployment in Afghanistan from December 2011 to February 2012.

His second and final deployment to Afghanistan began last November.

Danyluk is survived by his mother and father.
