San Diego Man With Alzheimer's Missing

An 80-year-old San Diego man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and diabetes went missing after wandering off in the Skyline neighborhood over the weekend, police said Monday.

Robert Gomez left his residence on Gribble Street near Siena Street on foot around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a San Diego police statement.

Police said Gomez requires medication for diabetes and has no means of transportation.

Gomez is Hispanic, 5 feet 6, 130 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, and he is missing his front teeth. He was last seen wearing an orange plaid shirt, blue jeans, yellow cowboy boots and a black cowboy hat.

Anyone who spots Gomez was asked to call police at (619) 531-2000.
