“I am proud to have served my country in uniform, and would be honored to continue service as a strong, positive voice representing the will of the people.

“There is much work to be done... Local governments must regain power over decisions that should be made here at home – not in Washington."
Wilske, who is running as a Republican, served 30 years in the Navy.

Davis also has some strong military ties. According to her official government website biography, her husband is a Vietnam War-era veteran. In addition...

Susan currently serves on the Armed Services Committee, where she is a Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Personnel. In this capacity, her priority has been making sure our soldiers, veterans and their families receive the services, benefits and justice they deserve.

The 53rd Congressional District includes the cities of La Mesa, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove - and San Diego city neighborhoods like North Park, Hillcrest, and Kensington.
