2 Navy SEAL Veterans Found Dead On 'Captain Phillips' Ship (Video)

Two Navy SEAL veterans, Jeffrey Reynolds and Mark Kennedy, were found dead Tuesday aboard the Maersk Alabama, according to Fox News.

The discovery of the men's bodies was made while the Maersk Alabama was moored at Port Victoria in the Indian Ocean.

Reynolds and Kennedy, both 44, were working as security officers aboard the container ship made famous when it was hijacked by Somali pirates in 2009.

The story of the hijacking incident was later made into an Academy Award-nominated movie called "Captain Phillips."

The Maersk Line told The Associated Press that while investigators are working on how the men died, the cause of death...

“[is]not related to vessel operations or their duties as security personnel.”

Police told CNN:

"A postmortem will be carried out this week in order to establish the cause of their sudden deaths."

The U.S. Coast Guard is also involved in the investigation.

Reynolds and Kennedy worked for the security firm Trident Group. The company's president, Tom Rothrauff, explained to CNN that the circumstances surrounding his employees' deaths are a complete mystery:

"It's bizarre. Of course, it's a shock. They're all great guys. I'm absolutely clueless as to what happened."
