U.S. Marine Ricky Jones, a member of the U.S.M.C. military police, was killed Saturday morning in a multi-car pile up in the Mission Valley area of San Diego.
The 20-year-old Jones was headed to MCRD San Diego around 5 a.m. when the accident took place, on I-8 westbound at the 163 interchange.
The Buffalo News reports Jones grew up in Niagara Falls, New York. He was the son of a Niagara Falls police detective. After graduating high school, the younger Jones became a firefighter with the Frontier Volunteer Fire Company.
