World Cup Fever: Soldiers In Afghanistan Give Team USA Shout Out (Video)

As the U.S. soccer team faces off against Belgium in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16, soldiers at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan are showing their support for their fellow countrymen.

Capt. Chance Mace, Capt. David Light, 1st Lt. Gil Morales, Sgt. 1st Class Briceida Urrutia, and Pfc. Mikhail Curley with the 647th Regional Support Group gave a special shout out from the other side of the globe.

There is a common thread among the soldiers serving overseas and several members of Team USA. According to the Miami Herald, five players on the United States World Cup roster are the sons of American servicemen. They are:
