The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Tuesday for the 15th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.025, its lowest amount since March 29.

The average price has decreased 12.8 cents over the past 15 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.4 cents less than one week ago, 7.5 cents lower than one month ago and 5.5 cents below what it was one year ago.

The average price rose 11 times in the 15 days immediately preceding the start of dropping prices, pushing the average price to its highest amount since May 19.

The dropping pump prices stem from continuing decreases to the wholesale price caused by an improving supply situation, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
