CORONADO — A suspected drunken driver crash shut down the main gate at Naval Air Station North Island on Coronado, causing major traffic delays during morning rush hour, KPBS media partner 10News reports.
The city reported on its Facebook page at about 5:30 a.m. that a civilian had damaged the NASNI’s main 3rd Street entrance. All traffic was being diverted to the base's two other gates at Ocean Boulevard and First Street.
The gate reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
