The U.S. faces Germany Thursday in a pivotal World Cup match that could decide whether the Americans advance. The U.S. team needs a win or a draw to control its own fate. A loss wouldn't doom the team outright — but it could be knocked out, depending on the outcome of the match between Ghana and Portugal.
Today's two games in Group G — dubbed by many as this tournament's "Group of Death" — will be played concurrently, beginning at noon ET.
