Navy Plane Crashes In Gulf Of Mexico; No Fatalities

Two U.S. Navy pilots flying a T-34C Turbo Mentor were able to safely bail out of the plane before it crashed into the Gulf of Mexico near Corpus Christi, Texas on Thursday morning.

The members of U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue were able to pluck both pilots from the sea.

According to the Navy, the two pilots were not injured, although they are being evaluated at a local hospital.

The T-34C Turbo Mentor was assigned to Training Squadron 28 (VT-28), which is based in Corpus Christi. The plane is primarily used to train Navy and Marine Corps pilots.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
