Camp Pendleton Marine Sings National Anthem At Padres Game - From Afghanistan (Video)

Camp Pendleton Marine 1st Lt. Skye Martin, currently deployed to Afghanistan, wowed the crowd at the Padres game on Sunday with a soaring, long-distance performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

According to 10News, Martin sang via live satellite feed, which was displayed on Petco Park's "FriarVision" video board.

Martin is a native of Tehachapi, California and is a 2011 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. She wrote on her Facebook page that she was in the Navy from 2007 until 2011, when she joined the Marine Corps.

Martin is currently a Marine Corps Public Affairs Officer with Regional Command Southwest at Camp Leatherneck in Helmand Province.

On a totally subjective side note: This is one of the most clear, beautiful versions of our national anthem I have ever heard. Talk about a REAL American Idol!
