Labor Day Holiday Results In Closures Of Many San Diego Facilities

Government offices and most public facilities will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday.

The closures will include administrative offices, courts, libraries and recreations centers. Curbside trash pickup will be delayed one day.

In the city of San Diego, the Miramar Landfill will be operate on its normal hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, the container sales office will be closed.

Municipal golf courses, Chollas Lake and the the Mission Trails Visitor Center will be open. City-run pools will operate from noon to 4 p.m.

Parking meters in San Diego will not be enforced, according to the city.

In the county of San Diego, offices, libraries, animal shelters, community centers and teen centers will be closed. Parks and campgrounds will be open.

Metropolitan Transit System buses and trolleys in San Diego will operate on a Sunday schedule. Most express and rapid express bus routes will not operate, with the exception of Express Routes 20 and and Rapid Route 235, which will run on Sunday schedules.

The North County Transit District's buses, and Coaster and Sprinter trains, will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. The Coaster train that normally leaves one hour after the conclusion of a Padres home game will leave at 5:15 p.m. Monday, according to the NCTD's Twitter account.
