WWII Veteran From California Stars In TV Commercial (Video)

Tide Honor Uniforms

"Pretty damn exciting!" is how 89-year-old World War II veteran Bruce Campbell describes his experience appearing in a television commercial for the very first time.

The Watertown Daily Times reports Campbell was tapped to narrate the commercial for Tide detergent, called "Honor Uniforms."

He first got the call from the ad agency producing the commercial in February, but didn't shoot the ad until August.

Until his recent stint in show business, Campbell was living a quiet live in the affluent Southern California town of San Marino.

During World War II, Campbell earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart during his service with M Company, 86th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division.

Campbell told the Watertown Daily Times he's proud to represent a group of men from the Greatest Generation that is quickly diminishing in number:

“We’re hanging in there as long as we can.”

Take a look at Campbell's commercial, posted up top. For an ad selling detergent, it gets pretty darn emotional...
