As the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches, the National September 11 Memorial Museum is now displaying the shirt worn by the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden.

In addition to the Navy SEAL uniform shirt, the new exhibit also displays a brick the SEALs recovered from bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The third component of the museum's newest display includes a coin of special significance, according to The Associated Press:

The red, white and blue coin was made to commemorate its conclusion. The coin bears the date — May 1, 2011, in U.S. time — on one side and a red "X'' on the other.

It was owned by the CIA officer, known as "Maya," who formed the basis for the main character in the Oscar-winning 2012 movie "Zero Dark Thirty."
National September 11 Memorial Museum Director Alice Greenwald said the new exhibit is a tribute to the tireless effort to nab the man responsible for the 9/11 attacks:
“The shirt worn by one of the U.S. Navy SEAL Team 6 members during the successful raid at bin Laden's hideout in Abbottabad — referenced also by the brick from that compound — connects us in a powerful and immediate way to that operation. The coin, donated by the CIA operative whose determined, multi-year effort to find bin Laden's hiding place led these special forces to that location, commemorates the success of the operation.”

More than 900,000 visitors have toured the museum since it opened its doors to the public in May. Architecture critic Justin Davidson of New York magazine was one of the first allowed inside the completed museum, and he narrates his tour in the video below:
