Fairer skies will prevail after an already saturated San Diego County was doused with more rain early Monday morning, meteorologists said.

Later this week, warmer weather and moderate winds will develop in the region, according to the National Weather Service.

The winds will develop Tuesday through Thursday, with the strongest winds occurring Wednesday below the passes, canyons and along the western slopes of the mountains, the weather service said.

Monday's forecast called for partly cloudy skies, light winds and areas of fog in coastal and valley areas in the morning. Highs Monday were expected to in the mid-60s in coastal and valley areas, mid-50s to low 60s in the mountains and mid-60s to low 70s in the deserts.
