San Diego Exports Hit Record High

San Diego Exports Hit Record High

A new report from the U.S. Department of Commerce shows the San Diego region exported $18.6 billion worth of goods in 2014, a record high for the region. It represents a 3.9 percent gain over the previous year.

It makes San Diego the 21st largest exporter in the nation.

What's behind the bump? And what does this mean for San Diego jobs? San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation CEO Mark Cafferty will discuss the significance of exports on the region's economy Friday on KPBS Evening Edition.
