San Diego Burn Institute's Annual Boot Drive Kicks Off Wednesday

The 2015 Firefighter Boot Drive, in which firefighting personnel collect money to support programs at the Burn Institute of San Diego, is scheduled Wednesday.

Among the programs that benefit from the fundraiser is Camp Beyond the Scars, a weeklong camp for children with burn injuries each summer.

Firefighters will accept donations at more than 100 locations around San Diego County, including:

• Downtown San Diego, A Street between First Avenue and Front Street.

• Rancho San Diego, Jamacha Boulevard at Willow Glen Road.

• Carlsbad, Paseo Del Norte at Palomar Airport Road.

• Chula Vista, East H Street at Hidden Vista Drive.

• Del Mar, Via Del La Valle at Jimmy Durante Boulevard.

• El Cajon, Greenfield Drive at Main Street.

• Encinitas, El Camino Real at Encinitas Boulevard.

• Escondido, Ash Street at Valley Parkway.

• Imperial Beach, 13th Street at Palm Avenue;

• La Mesa, Allison and University avenues;

• Lemon Grove, Lemon Grove Avenue at Broadway.

• National City, 30th Street at Highland Avenue.

• Oceanside, El Camino Real at Vista Way.

• Poway, Community and Poway roads.

• Santee, Mission Gorge Road at Magnolia Avenue.

• Vista, Vista Village Drive at S. Santa Fe Avenue. Fire Departments at the Barona, Sycuan and Viejas Indian reservations, Camp Pendleton, General Dynamics NASSCO and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar are also taking part.
